    UNESCO Director General Tours Great Zimbabwe Monuments

    The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Director General Audrey Azoulay toured the Great Zimbabwe World Heritage Site on Tuesday. She went up the Hill Complex, visited the Shona Village, and the Great Enclosure.

    She said the tour is perhaps the best antidote to the amnesia and prejudices that have attributed the site’s architectural features to foreign builders, while the site actually tells a great deal about the past of African civilisation.

    The Director General said that the Great Zimbabwe World Heritage Site is exceptional
