VP Chiwenga builds clinic at his Goromonzi farm

Harare (New Ziana) –Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has built a clinic at his Chivaraidze farm in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East province which will have a catchment of about 9 000 from the local communities.

The new state of the art health facility, which VP Chiwenga built after his late mother Chivaraidze, brings to 32 the number of clinics in the district.

Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Apolonia Munzverengwi officially commissioned the Chivaraidze Clinic on Saturday during a ceremony attended by hundreds from the neighbouring farms.

The health facility is expected to service local and neighbouring farm workers as well surrounding communities that include Chibvuti, Chabwino, SeedCo and Charlotte Brooke farms who used to travel long distances to the nearest one.

It has two nurses and two nurse aides stationed on the premises, while a doctor is expected to visit twice a week depending on demand.

There are plans to build a maternity section with a shelter for waiting mothers at the clinic, which will offer a full package of primary health care, that is preventive, promotive and rehabilitative.
