Harare, (New Ziana) -The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) on Tuesday announced two international friendly matches for the senior men’s national football team, the Warriors, scheduled for early next month, as part of preparations for upcoming competitive fixtures.

In a statement, ZIFA said the Warriors will travel to Casablanca, Morocco, where they will face Burkina Faso on 6 June, before taking on Niger on 10 June.

“These matches present an important opportunity for Michael Nees and his technical team to assess player readiness, test combinations, and build cohesion,” it said.

Both Burkina Faso and Niger are considered strong opponents, and ZIFA believes the friendlies will offer the national team valuable international experience as they gear up for future qualifiers and tournaments.

ZIFA said it remains committed to strengthening the Warriors through regular high-level match exposure.

“We are focused on giving our team the best platform to grow and compete effectively on the international stage,” it said.

The friendly matches come as part of a broader strategy by the football mother body to develop a competitive and confident Warriors squad under the guidance of head coach Michael Nees.

The Warriors will travel to Morocco in December this year for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition, where they will be competing as one of the 24 teams, starting on 21 December.
