Woman found dead at railway line in Nyamandlovu.

Police in Nyamandlovu are appealing for information on the whereabouts of  Mthokozisi
Dube in connection with the death of his wife Prisca Tshuma .
Tshuma (20) of Plot 1 Mimosa Farm, Redbank, Nyamandlovu, was found lying dead beside a
railway line on April 27.
According to a police report Tshuma died after she fought with her husband Dube.
“On 26 April 2023 at around 9pm, and at Plot 1 Mimosa Farm, Redbank, Nyamandlovu,
Mthokozisi Dube who is employed as a domestic worker at the said plot had a dispute with
his wife Prisca Tshuma after she came home late,” said Matebeleland North Police
Spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda .
The police said Dube started assaulting the deceased Tshuma with open hands while in their
bedroom. He dragged her outside the bedroom and out of the gate of the yard, leaving behind
his workmate Augustine Dube (25) who was trying to stop the two from quarrelling.
“On 27 April 2023, at around 0005 hours, the suspect returned home alone and advised his
workmate that he had resolved their dispute at their neighbour’s homestead and that he also
left his wife Prisca Tshuma at his neighbour's homestead. He then proceeded to his bedroom
to sleep.
On the same day at around 6am, Dube went to the suspect’s bedroom to wake him up for
work. However, he noticed that the suspect had left with all his belongings.
He went to check at the neighbour’s homestead only to be told that the suspect never reached
the said homestead during the night and Prisca Tshuma was not there, said the Police.
He subsequently alerted other villagers about what had transpired and they searched for both
the suspect and the victim.
“It was during the search that they later found the body of Prisca Tshuma lying dead beside a
railway line about a kilometre due south from Plot 1.”
 
Police attended the scene and noticed that the body had injuries on the forehead, right ear,
bruises on the right arm and chest. The body of the deceased was taken to United Bulawayo
Hospitals mortuary for post mortem. The suspect is still at large.
Inspector Glory Banda reminded members of the public that violence is not a way to go in
resolving disputes.

“Third parties should be engaged to solve disputes amicably,” he said.
