A 32-year-old Mazowe Citrus compound woman is currently recuperating after her
alleged boyfriend’s wife scalded her with boiling cooking oil.
According to police spokesperson, Inspector Milton Mundembe, on December 23,
Tracy Chumachavazungu was approached by Ines Chimutondo (27) who accused her
of dating her husband.
Chimutondo summoned her to her place for questioning in front of her husband and
she complied.
However, whilst at Chimutondo’s place, Chumachavazungu was surprised to see
Chimutondo advancing towards her with a pan full of boiling cooking oil that she
immediately poured on Chumachavazungu’s face and chest.
Chumachavazungu sustained serious burns on the face and chest and was taken to
Concession District Hospital where she was admitted.
She only reported the case on January10 after she was released from Concession
District Hospital after getting medical attention.
Speaking to Guardian reporters, Insp Mundembe called men and women to be faithful
to their partners and avoid adultery.
He said: “As Police, we are also exhorting spouses to be faithful to their partners,
Zingizi gonyera pamwe maruva enyika haaperi.”
