Zanu PF in huge Parliamentary poll lead in Manicaland province

Mutare (New Ziana) -The ruling Zanu PF party was leading by a wide margin in National Assembly elections for Manicaland province after it won 11 out of the 15 constituencies whose results had reached the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission provincial command centre on Friday.

Results of the remaining 10 constituencies were expected to have reached the provincial command centre by mid-afternoon the same day.

Manicaland provincial elections officer Thompson Chiwereweshe hailed the electorate in the province for holding peaceful polls and urged them to remain patient as results trickled in throughout the day.

Zanu PF won in Mutema-Musikavanhu, Chipinge East, Chimanimani East, Makoni South and West, Nyanga North as well as Buhera Central, North and West while the CCC took Chikanga, Chipinge, Makoni Central and Mutare Central

The ZEC is releasing the results in batches for constituencies where counting would have been completed.
