Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is making preparations for its Ordinary Congress which is set to be held in Harare on Friday.
The annual gathering will provide an opportunity for the association’s executive committee and secretariat to account to delegates on the work carried out during 2025, while also outlining priorities and operational plans for the next phase of the organisation’s journey.
As the supreme gathering of ZIFA’s membership, Congress remains a key platform for reflection, accountability, and strategic direction as it allows delegates from across the football family to review progress and engage with the broader vision for the continued growth and transformation of the game in Zimbabwe.
Acting ZIFA secretary general Norman Gwangwadza said the Congress comes at a timely moment for the association as it pursues reforms, strengthens governance structures, and drives football development across all levels of the game.
“The meeting is expected to look back on milestones achieved in 2025, while also focusing on the path ahead as the association works to build on that momentum. We are ready for the Congress and looking forward to a productive meeting with our delegates.
“This is an important moment for the association to give an account of the work done in 2025 and to present the plans that will guide our operations in the coming year,” Gwangwadza said.
He added that the Ordinary Congress was an important part of maintaining transparency and strengthening the relationship between the association’s leadership and its membership.
“Beyond the formal business of the day, the gathering also represents an important moment of unity for Zimbabwean football, bringing together stakeholders under one roof to consider both achievements and challenges, and to collectively shape the future of the game,” he said.
The Congress is expected to reaffirm ZIFA’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and service to its members, while providing a clear picture of the association’s future.
