    Zim Covid-19 cases go past 5k

    Harare (New Ziana) – Zimbabwe on Friday logged 82 new cases of Coronavirus, taking the total of confirmed cases past the five thousand mark, statistics by the Ministry of Health and Child Care show.

    Zimbabwe recorded its first Covid-19 case in March.

    The Ministry said the new cases recorded on Friday were all local transmissions.

    A total of 71 new recoveries were also recorded, taking the total of healed patients to 1 998.

    “As of August 14, 2020. Zimbabwe has now recorded 5 072 cases and 128 deaths,” the Ministry said.

    Harare and Bulawayo remain the country’s Covid-19 hot-spots with 1 947 and 1 170 cases respectively.
