Zim, Iran to sign several MoUs

Harare (New Ziana) – Zimbabwe and Iran are expected to sign several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during Thursday’s one day state visit by Iranian President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi as the two countries seek to deepen ties.

President Raisi is also expected to hold bilateral talks with host President Emmerson Mnangagwa, whose government is keen to open new and old ties with countries around the world.

Zimbabwe and Iran have committed to develop wide ranging ties, particularly in the economic field, and have yearly been holding joint commissions to explore and deepen this.

In a statement on the visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, said: “During the state visit, H.E. Dr Raisi is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with his counterpart and President of the Republic of Zimbabwe H.E Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.”

“During the visit, several MoUs are expected to be signed as the two nations deepen their ties. The State Visit to Zimbabwe by H.E Dr Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi will consolidate the gains of our long standing relationship.”
