Harare (New Ziana)-The Zimbabwe National Army Commander Lieutenant-General Edzai Chimonyo has died.

Presidential spokesperson George Charamba announced Lt Gen Chimonyo’s death on his Twitter account early Thursday.

“Devastated to announce the passing on of General Chimonyo early this morning after a long fight against cancer. Go well freedom fighter, Commander and Ambassador,” he posted.

Lt General took over the ZNA Commander post from General Phillip Valerio Sibanda in 2017.
