BINDURA -Voting started on time at all polling stations in Bindura Urban and Bindura North political constituency on Wednesday August 23. Polling stations opened at 7am to hundreds of the electorate, many who by around 6am had already queued to cast their vote.

At Marimira Business Centre, Ward 5 and Chiwaridzo Phase 2 Ward 9, presiding officers said they only had lighting problems in the morning but managed to solve it by opening tent sides.
Michael Pfupajena who voted at Marimira Shopping Centre acknowledged the problem. He said he had to use his mobile phone light to improve lighting in the voting booth, which is however not allowed.

At Chiwaridzo Phase 2, Ward 9 tent D, the presiding officer Tholanah Nicholas said: “We had to open the other side of the tent and position a police officer at that opening to guard against bad minded people.”
In Shamva South the electorate said they were happy with the voting process and prevailing atmosphere.

Chipo Muchemwa and Happiness Mutunami, vendors at Wadzanayi Township business centre said the voting process was flawless and quick. They had managed to vote and go back to their vending points.

However there were some people who could not find their names on the voters roll at their polling stations with most guilty of not making use of the voters roll inspection window early this year.
