Harare,  (New Ziana)- The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT), in partnership with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), has commenced the 2025 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Access by households and use by individuals survey.

In a statement on Friday, Zimstat said the nationwide household data collection exercise, running from 6 to 23 November 2025, seeks to gather crucial data on household access to, and individual use of, ICTs across the country.

Zimstat said the findings will assist in measuring the digital divide both within and between provinces, providing valuable insights to guide evidence-based policy formulation and development planning.

According to ZIMSTAT, the specific objectives of the survey include establishing ICT access levels among households, determining the extent of individual ICT usage, identifying barriers to access and use, and assessing changes in ICT penetration over time.

During the exercise, trained ZIMSTAT enumerators, who will carry official identification letters to verify their credentials, will visit selected households across all provinces.

Zimstat appealed for the cooperation of all households in the selected areas to ensure the success of the important national survey.

“The data will be used solely for statistical purposes to support national policy development, planning, and monitoring of digital inclusion indicators.

“ZIMSTAT appeals for the full cooperation of all households in the selected areas to ensure the success of this important national survey,” it said.
