ZRP FC, West Nicholson FC through Division One

WHAT started as social football has turned fortunes for West Nicholson FC and ZRP FC (Amajahunda) after they made it into the Central Region Division One.

For the two teams, 2023 was a year to establish their dominance and claim their position after their stellar performances.

ZRP FC is no stranger to excellence after ending the season being among the top contenders.
In an interview, ZRP FC (Amajahunda) coach, Morris Chiwara, assured that the team will raise the flag even higher.

“We are not new in Central Region Division One. We are happy to bounce back with another strategy and other tactics. Football is unpredictable, it has its own fate, but we are optimistic that we will excel. Our executive is currently working round the clock to beef-up our team for this Division One contest.

“The league will be starting soon, and our fans should expect nothing less other than competitive games. We are not going into Division One as visitors. We going there to stay. We are still the formidable team that has the winning spirit,” coach Chiwara said.

His counterpart at West Nicholson, Coach Ophani Muleya, said they are thrilled by the elevation and they will certainly deliver good results.

“We are certain that we will produce something good in this much awaited Division One. Players are filled with enthusiasm and the technical team is also making touch-ups to ensure the smooth flow of the season.

“We are aware that teams in Division One have competitive football and we are ready for the challenge,” said Muleya.

These two teams have proven that Matabeleland South youths are talented and they can invest in their God-given talent.
