20-year-old kills father, burns him

POLICE in Mashonaland Central have arrested a 20-year-old Mvurwi man, who
allegedly killed his father in cold blood and burnt him beyond recognition.
Mind Chinyemba, of Plot number 6, Omeath Farm, Mvurwi, is believed to be
mentally challenged.
He is assisting police with their investigations.
Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Milton Mundembe said: “I can confirm a
murder case in Mvurwi, where Mind (Chinyemba) stoned his father, Kennedy
Chinyemba (61), to death before burning his body beyond recognition, the suspect is
believed to be mentally challenged and we have since arrested him,” Inspector
Mundembe said.
It is further alleged that, Mind went to his father’s friend, Ringson Changa’s house
and found Changa’s son, Kenny, and told him that he wanted to kill his father.
Kenny did not take him seriously and left headed for his garden.
Mind then went back home and attacked his father before setting him on fire.
Later, while coming back from the garden, Kenny then saw the deceased’s body on
fire.
He alerted other villagers but they could not save him. The body was burnt beyond
recognition.
