POTRAZ Director-General, Dr Gift Machengete, officially launched two computer laboratories
at Jekero Primary School and Chiredzi Christian College as part of efforts by the Government to
see all schools start e-learning for all schools.
Speaking during the launch at Chiredzi Christian College, Dr Machengete said POTRAZ was
targeting schools with electricity and would move to those without electricity along the way,
once alternative power, mostly solar was secured.
He advised Chiredzi Christian College learners to guard the equipment and make sure it does not
get vandalised. He appealed to the community to help look after the gadgets.
Jekero Primary School head, Fungai Chauke, thanked the Second Republic for the computers,
which she said would go a long way in equipping the learners with ICT knowledge.
Jekero Primary received 30 laptops, 30 chairs and 15 desks, while Chiredzi Christian College
received 30 laptops and one desktop computer. – ZIS
