AS the country gears for the 2023 harmonised election, ZANU PF is geared to ensure that its
members go out and vote putting the five million votes slogan into practice.
Masvingo provincial leadership has been working on recruiting new members to the party
and aiming to surpass the 800 000 votes, which it is supposed to contribute to the five million
votes national target.
Speaking during the clean-up campaign in Masvingo recently, the ruling party Vice President
and Second Secretary, Kembo Mohadi, said it was time for the people to go out and cast
those five million votes for the revolutionary party.
“Tasvika! We want now to see those five million votes in practical terms. We have chanted
the slogans of the five million votes. Now we would want see those five million ballot papers
cast for ZANU PF. Time is nigh, it may be in the second half of this year or it may be in the
first half of this year, but we are going to vote.
Vote ZANU PF, someone was talking about road construction and the drilling of boreholes.

He said that Zimbabwe got its independence through the shedding of blood and the top
leadership of ZANU PF comprised those people who sacrificed their lives in order to attain
independence.
“Zimbabwe is ours, Zimbabwe inyika yeropa. We got this independence through the
shedding of blood and where we are today at Benjamin Burombo Building, he was one of the
founders of our political consciousness through trade unionism. I was saying to my comrades,
why is that we haven’t seen a request from Masvingo, requesting for the honour of this
gentleman, Benjamin Burombo,” he said.
“Your top leadership in ZANU PF is composed of veterans of the liberation struggle, war
veterans. There is none of us that does not have military background, there is none of us at
the top who did not fire a gun. Iyi nyika ine vene vayo. Vene vayo ndimi makabatsira varwi
