Harare, (New Ziana) – A 35-year-old armed robber who unleashed a reign of terror around Chitungwiza nearly two years ago has been jailed for an effective 102 years, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe has said.
Tapiwa Mbirimi was convicted of a spate of violent crimes committed in January 2023 by the Harare Magistrates Regional Court.
Armed with a pistol, machete and iron bar, Mbirimi terrorized residents of Savanhu, Chitungwiza, robbing innocent victims.
His reign of terror included, attempted murder for shooting one of his victims with a pistol, armed robbery, robbing multiple individuals of cash, cellphones and other valuables.
