Harare, (New Ziana) – The Consumer Council of Zimbabwe (CCZ) has said it expects the prevailing price stability to continue at least in the first quarter of this year because of the tight monetary policy being implemented by the Government.

In a statement, CCZ chief executive officer Rosemary Mpofu said monetary policy measures were the bedrock upon which the economy will improve.

“As Consumer Council of Zimbabwe, we anticipate the stability of prices to continue during the first quarter of 2025 owing to the tight monetary and fiscal policy measures instituted by the authorities,” she said.

She, however, expressed concern over the continued fluctuations of the local currency on the informal market which she said is a major concern for consumers.

Turning to the rainfall season, Mpofu said the weather forecast for the 2024/25 season has continued to depict a normal to above normal rainfall pattern despite the late start of the rains.

“As Consumer Council of Zimbabwe we keep believing in our weather experts and urge consumers to pay attention to the advice as given especially that of growing the small grains in specific regions,” she said.
