MASVINGO — ZANU-PF Masvingo Province, in partnership with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), is set to host a landmark workshop for artists at its Provincial Headquarters in Masvingo.
The event aims to gather emerging artists, poets, dramatists, musicians, scriptwriters, filmmakers, and content creators from all seven districts of the province.
This initiative coincides with the Second Republic’s ambitious plan, under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, to earmark US$10 million to boost content creation across Zimbabwe.
The programme underscores a firm commitment to elevating the creative industries, ensuring that local voices and stories resonate as Zimbabwe progresses toward Vision 2030.
ZANU-PF Masvingo Provincial Secretary for Information and Publicity, Chiwewe, praised the initiative and emphasised its importance in nurturing creativity within the province.
“This initiative is a powerful declaration of our Second Republic’s commitment to empowering the arts. Under the stewardship of HE President Dr. ED Mnangagwa, ZANU-PF Masvingo Province is proud to lead in fostering creativity,” he said.
“The US$10 million fund is a revolutionary investment in our heritage, our talent, and our future. We urge every poet, musician, dramatist, and filmmaker in Masvingo to embrace this opportunity and contribute to our journey towards Vision 2030.”
The workshop promises to attract a diverse array of creatives, providing essential mentorship opportunities, exposure to industry standards, and access to funding pathways. It represents a significant moment for ZANU-PF Masvingo Province as it reinforces its commitment to the national vision and champions the arts as a key driver in Zimbabwe’s journey toward greater prosperity.
With this historic event, ZANU-PF Masvingo is not only nurturing local talent but also cementing the role of the arts in the nation’s economic and cultural narrative.
