Harare, (New Ziana) – The World Bank Group has launched a stakeholder consultation exercise in Zimbabwe aimed at assessing the impact of its country program with a view to strengthen and improve its outcomes, a senior official has said.

In a statement, WB country manager for Zimbabwe, Eastern and Southern Africa Region Eneida Fernandes invited stakeholders to share their insights on its operations and initiatives, noting that the feedback will play a crucial role in refining strategies and enhancing the impact of its interventions in the country.

“The World Bank Group invites you to share your insights regarding our operations and initiatives in Zimbabwe. Our objective is to enhance our Country Program to achieve greater impact and deliver tangible results. As a key stakeholder and influential voice, your perspective is critical to this process,” she said.

“We would deeply appreciate you completing the survey to contribute to this pivotal World Bank Group initiative. Your candid feedback will shape our future endeavors and drive improved development outcomes for Zimbabwe,” she added.

The initiative, which takes the form of a structured survey, is designed to gather candid views from influential voices across various sectors.

Fernandes said the responses will help shape future projects and ensure that WB programs deliver “tangible results” aligned with Zimbabwe’s development priorities.

“To ensure the integrity and confidentiality of this process, we have engaged an independent local research firm to conduct the survey,” she explained.

The survey will be administered by the Mass Public Opinion Institute (MPOI), which will reach out to selected participants over the coming weeks, with the WB assuring respondents that all feedback will remain anonymous and confidential, encouraging openness and honesty in the submissions.

According to the WB, the collected data will be aggregated and analysed before being shared with its Zimbabwe country team, and the findings are expected to guide operational and engagement strategies, as well as inform future development interventions.

The results will also be made publicly available on the World Bank official website, as part of its commitment to transparency and accountability.

The WB emphasised that stakeholder input is “of paramount importance” in ensuring that programs are responsive to local needs and realities, with participants encouraged to seek clarification or raise concerns through its Country Office.

The survey forms part of a broader global initiative by the World Bank to continuously assess its effectiveness and adapt its support to member countries in a rapidly changing development landscape.
