Bulawayo, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has extended its Voluntary Disclosure Programme (VDP) to September 30 to give taxpayers, including landlords and property lessors, more time to correct past tax omissions and regularise their tax affairs.
The extension was announced under Public Notice 42 of 2026, following the introduction of the programme through Public Notice 25 of 2026.
In a statement on Wednesday, ZIMRA said the initiative allows taxpayers to revisit their tax records, make full and truthful disclosures and negotiate payment arrangements for outstanding taxes.
Under the programme, penalties will be waived in full for qualifying disclosures, although interest will still be charged in line with the law.
“The VDP is meant to encourage voluntary compliance and allow taxpayers to regularise their tax affairs without unnecessary disruption to their business operations and personal lives,” ZIMRA said.
The tax authority has particularly urged individuals, companies, trusts and other organisations earning income from renting or leasing property to use the extended window.
The affected properties include houses, flats, condominiums, hostels, cottages, cluster homes, offices, office blocks, farms, plots, motor vehicles, plant and equipment, and any other goods or property rented or leased for private or commercial use.
ZIMRA said the programme applies across the country, covering both urban and non-urban areas, including towns, cities, municipal areas and growth points.
