Air Zim adds more domestic, regional flights

Harare (New Ziana) – Air Zimbabwe says it will be operating additional domestic and regional flights starting from March 28 this year.

Domestic destinations include Bulawayo, Harare and Victoria Falls while the airline also services the Harare-Dar es Salaam and Harare-Johannesburg regional routes.

In a statement, Air Zimbabwe said it was resuming additional flights with effect from March 28.

It said the flight from Harare to Bulawayo to Victoria Falls and back would operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

“Passengers are reminded to comply with all Covid-19 preventive and control protocols to stop the spread of the coronavirus as per guidelines issued by government and the health authorities,” the airline said.

Ai Zimbabwe said the flight from Harare to Dar es Salaam would continue every Tuesday and Saturday.

In January, Air Zimbabwe announced an ambitious 2021 plan to bolster its operations through new aircraft acquisition and expansion of routes.

The perennially struggling carrier, which is currently under judicial management to protect it from insolvency, acquired a second Embraer jet.

The airline’s acting chief executive Joseph Makonise described 2020 as a tumultuous year that had seen the industry being grounded due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Our focus for 2021 is fleet augmentation, route expansion and service delivery,” he said.
