MUTARE- The seventh edition of the annual Mai Hondo Youth Memorial
Junior Soccer Tournament was talk of the town as the tournament this year
rebranded and partnered Population Solutions for Health (PSH)to spread
consciousness on sexual reproductive health matters.
The tournament dubbed ‘Love Shouldn’t Hurt’ brought both entertainment and
serious sexual and reproductive health services to the doorsteps of people in the
    eastern border city.
The annual Mai Hondo youth memorial junior soccer tournament is in its
seventh edition and draws boys’ and girls’ soccer teams from Mutare, and
several districts in Manicaland with a far reaching uptake as far as Masvingo.
The rebranding of the tournament also saw the broadening of activities to
include netball competitions for the girls as well.
PSH provided free cervical cancer screening, male circumcision and HIV
testing and counselling during the two-day extravaganza held at venues in
    Sakubva and Dangamvura suburbs.
Zim Dancehall chanter, Freeman and husky voiced gospel musician Mambo
Dhuterere added icing to the cake as they rocked Mutare during last weekend’s
    tournament.
The annual junior sports tournament uses sport to reach grassroots people and
Gender Based Violence hot-spots in both urban and rural areas.
