Gwanda (New Ziana) – The Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust (CFOZT) has encouraged artists in Matabeleland South to apply for funding under a grant it was administering, to help finance their projects and activities.
CFOZT executive director, Farai Mpfunya said a grant of euro2 million was available to fund artists’ projects under the Creative Action 2 programme covering this year to 2025.
Under the funding arrangement, Creative 1 programme, which ran from 2020 to 2021, had been successfully completed, paving way for the second phase.
Funding for the programmes was secured from the European Union.
“Let us build the province together and the country at large with our different talents from the arts sector. We hope that people are going to apply for the grant and enrich their different areas of specialization in the arts sector,” Mpfunya said.
He particularly urged artists with disabilities to apply for the funding given their limited ability to access loans on the open market.
