Chief Chidziva dies

Chinhoyi (New Ziana) –ZVIMBA North traditional leader, Chief Chidziva (born Johannes Jenami) has died.

He was 92.

Chief Chidziva died at Parirenyatwa Group ofHospitals on Wednesday after a long battle with a kidney ailment.

His son, who is his third child, Gibson Jenami (headman Katizagombo), confirmed the death of his father, who he described as a true warrior, an outstanding leader and a unifier, and that no one could replace him.

“Kana tichitaura leadership yaMambo Chidziva, tinotaura an exemplary father vane hunhu vanga vachichengeta chivanhu chavo. Semhuri vaikurudzira kudanana nekubatana, vakanga vasina rusaruro vaibata munhu wese semwana wavo. Munhu aibatanidza mhuri yake uye vachirwa kuti nyika yavo ibudirire.

“Tarasikirwa zvikuru, Zvimba North ndonzvimbo yavanga vachitungamirira, yavanga vachitonga. Mabasa avanga vachiita handina shuwa kuti tinomakwanisa,” said Jenami.

Chief Chidziva is survived by two wives, 21 children and grandchildren. He was the only one left in his family, where he was the last born, after all his siblings had died.

He was born in 1930 and was appointed as Chief on November 7, 2012.

The late Chief had four headmen under him, Katizagombo, Karigamombe, Nyakatsika and Sharishongwe.

New Ziana
