CHIREDZI — The Chiredzi community is mourning Courage Mutavirwa, the co-pilot who died in a helicopter crash that also claimed the lives of businessman Wicknell Chivayo and other passengers in Marondera.

Mutavirwa grew up in Section 66, Triangle, attending Mpapa Primary School before moving on to Mtilikwi Secondary School.

His father was a clerk at Section 66 in Triangle.

News of his death has left the Triangle and greater Chiredzi communities mourning the loss of a son who went on to pursue an aviation career.

Community members have been sending condolences to the Mutavirwa family, with tributes describing his death as a painful loss.

“Courage was not just a talented pilot, but also a humble and inspirational young man. His passing is a great loss to our community and to all those who knew him. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Mutavirwa family during this difficult time,” said Mbuya Anna Mavhu.

“We are deeply saddened by Courage’s untimely death. He represented hope and achievement for the youth of Chiredzi. His memory will live on in our hearts. May his family find comfort and strength in the love and support of the community,” said a local church leader.
