Philanthropist and businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo has been honoured with the Africa Inspiring Change Maker Award at the prestigious 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit, held in Marrakech, Morocco, in recognition of his humanitarian work, entrepreneurial success, and contribution to Africa’s socio-economic development.
The continental summit, held on June 27, 2026, brought together leading entrepreneurs, policymakers, diplomats, innovators and development practitioners to celebrate individuals whose leadership is shaping Africa’s future through business excellence, peacebuilding and community empowerment.
Sir Wicknell was recognized for his growing influence across the continent, with his business and philanthropic initiatives extending beyond Zimbabwe to countries including Kenya, Tanzania and Eswatini.
The Africa Inspiring Change Maker Award acknowledges individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to ethical leadership, entrepreneurship and the empowerment of communities.
The recognition also highlights the role of his company, Intratek, in supporting Zimbabwe’s economic development agenda in line with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, which seeks to achieve an empowered upper-middle-income economy while ensuring that no one and no place is left behind.
The national development agenda is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Amb. Dr. Kingsley Amafibe, said Sir Wicknell’s growing continental influence made him a deserving recipient of the honour.
