Midwest Rhinos cricketer Natalie Chikandinga was recently crowned Miss Kwekwe Expo at a contest
held to conclude the annual showcase.
Chikandinga was crowned together with Sam Msipa who won Mr Kwekwe Expo.
The talented batswoman who has taken part in different modelling pageants across the country was
elated by the latest achievement in her first Miss Kwekwe Expo attempt.
Msipa won the men’s contest on the second attempt after he was the first Prince last year.
Chikandinga excelled in the sports and prompt speech category as she showcased her cricketing
skills with a bat on stage.
She vowed to improve the lives of young children and the girl child.
"As a young person I want to work with young children adopted in hospitals and those in the
community to help them uplift and succeed in their education.
“I will donate clothes, sanitary pads and books to young girls.
“I also want to urge young girls to avoid early child marriages and also not to be involved in internet
sexual activities and focus on their dreams and education,” she said.
The Rhinos cricketer said she is however still pursuing her education besides cricket and modelling.
"Education is the key to success and I firstly put all my effort into education.
“I study in the evening while I play cricket and do modelling during the day," said Chikandinga.
Shalom Mafuruse was crowned first princess, while Winet Sungai was second princess in the Miss
Kwekwe Expo contest.
Kundai Matemba won first prince in the Mr Kwekwe Expo contest, while Presly Tanhera was second
