Bulawayo, (New Ziana)- Zimbabwe should build businesses that can grow, invest, create jobs, export as well as compete regionally and globally, the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) has said.
Newly elected CZI national president Clara Mlambo said the industrial future of the country depends on a strong, engaged private sector and an industry body that is responsive to the needs of its members.
She will lead the CZI for the 2026–2028 term, bringing to the organisation her experience as managing director of BOC Gases.
“Zimbabwe needs businesses that can grow, invest, create jobs, export and compete. This has to be a collective effort. CZI is only as strong as the members who participate in it,” she said.
Mlambo said she would focus on keeping the CZI relevant to its membership, strengthening the voice of industry through evidence-based engagement, and advancing a competitive manufacturing sector.
She will serve alongside two vice presidents namely Hunyani Paper and Packaging managing director Wellington Dangarembizi and Stephen Ncube of Role Retail Compliance.
The new regional presidents include Emmanuel Mujuru who is the managing director of Plus Five Pharmaceuticals (Mashonaland), Ainah Kaguru, acting chief executive officer of the National Railways of Zimbabwe (Matabeleland), Allen Manhanga a senior executive manager at Sable Chemicals (Midlands) and Remmington Mpande production executive at Manica Boards and Doors (Manicaland).
