Don’t pay for recruitment – teaching job seekers told

Harare (New Ziana) – The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education on Thursday warned prospective teachers not to fall prey to agents purportedly able to arrange teaching jobs in government, or to facilitate transfers for those already in post.
It was responding to fake messages on social media posted by the agents, who demand a fee for their illegal services.
It said it was in the process of engaging the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) to track down the agents, most of whom post their messages on Whatsapp.
Ministry spokesman, Taungana Ndoro said the agents operated on social media, where it is suspected some job seekers might have fallen victim.
“Stay alert, stay awake. Do not be duped by corrupt elements using +263717496130 with a WhatsApp group named “Teaching posts n transfer” purporting to facilitate recruitment and transfers for a fee. Resist, reject and report corruption,” the Ministry tweeted.
“It is a bogus entity that has been demanding money from unsuspecting teachers for various amounts of fees and obviously failing to deliver on the promise,” Ndoro told New Ziana.
“We are carrying out awareness campaigns and also working with ZACC to nip the culprits in the bud.”
