    Egypt and Zimbabwe agree to expand cooperation in the fields of agriculture and infrastructure

    BRICS TV- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa held talks on Tuesday, 14 November. The leaders highlighted their desire to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the field of development co-operation.

    The meeting took place during Mnangagwa’s visit to Egypt for the third Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF). Mnangagwa praised Egypt’s development process and expressed Zimbabwe’s interest in learning from Egypt’s experience.

    Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa held talks on Tuesday, 14 November. The leaders expressed their desire to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the field of development co-operation. They agreed on developing cooperation in agriculture and agro-industrial projects, maximizing livestock and fisheries resources, and ensuring food security between Egypt and Zimbabwe. They also discussed cooperation in infrastructure sectors for joint development opportunities.

    In a separate meeting, President Al-Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Al-Mosilhi. They updated him on the government’s efforts to ensure the availability of essential goods for citizens, despite international crises.

    President Al-Sisi also instructed the completion of a national project to build strategic warehouses and grain elevators. The aim is to maintain sufficient stocks of basic goods and food throughout the year, ensuring the needs of citizens are met and enhancing food security in Egypt.
