    Employment opportunities for locals

    WITH the high rate of unemployment in Zimbabwe, A mining and milling company in Shamva has
    been able to cater for and employ across the spectrum of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled
    tradespersons and professionals.
    Since it commissioned its first custom milling plant in 2018 the number of its employees exceeds 120
    and currently among its workforce are women included.
    According to Kapeza Kapeza, the human resources manager at Footprint mining and milling, which
    constitutes local and foreign shareholders, their employees come mainly from Shamva District,
    particularly Shamva township, and surrounding areas as well as a few from other areas too.
    "We are an equal opportunity employer and we encourage all, including women to join us on this
    journey and our efforts to make Zimbabwe a formidable player in gold and related products." he
    said.
    He added that they had worked with all statutory entities including the Ministry of Mines and Mining
    Development, Fidelity Printers, Environmental Management Agency (EMA) and Zimbabwe Revenue
    Authority (ZIMRA).
    Among their clients are small scale miners and local artisanal miners.
    The company has been playing corporate social responsibility role by giving back to the community.
    It has a number of initiatives and investments to date, including education support for
    underprivileged pupils in Shamva District. It also has income-generating projects such as bee-keeping
    for local villagers and numerous other environmental preservation initiatives.
    The human resources manager, they wish to become a comprehensive and integrated player in
    value addition and gold beneficiation in Zimbabwe and beyond.
