Harare(New Ziana)- Former Labour and Social Welfare Minister Petronella Kagonye, who is accused of illegally selling state land in Harare and Mashonaland East provinces, was on Tuesday granted ZW$30 000 bail by a Harare magistrate.

Kagonye appeared before magistrate Stanford Mambanje facing four counts of fraud for allegedly selling ZB bank land to cooperatives and allocating a farm to a minor among others.

She is also facing one count of theft for allegedly stealing 20 computers that had been donated by POTRAZ and one count of criminal abuse of office as a public officer.

The State was not opposed to the granting of bail.

Kagonye becomes the third former Minister to face charges related to land allocations, and the eleventh to face corruption-related charges, with four having since fled the country.
