Harare (New Ziana) – A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by a Harare magistrate court for raping his daughter.

The abuse occurred on September 23rd last year when the man, who cannot be identified to protect the child, summoned the girl to his bedroom and ordered her to undress.

He then proceeded to rape her. Minutes later, he called her back to the bedroom and raped her again and threatened her not to tell anyone.

The girl eventually confided in her mother, who immediately mobilized her neighbors to apprehend the man.
