    Gokwe schools get Covid assistance

    Gokwe (New Ziana) – As schools resume in-person learning countrywide, Farm Community Trust of Zimbabwe has donated a consignment of hygiene kits to several educational establishments in Gokwe North and South to help prepare them for the re-opening of schools slated for Monday next week.

    A total of 29 schools benefited from the donation, which comprised of various health-related products.

    Eighteen of these were from Gokwe North, and 11 from Gokwe South.

    Speaking at the handover ceremony, Midlands Provincial Education Director, James Machimbira applauded the Trust for the donation which comes at a time the world is fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

    “The gesture by Farm Community Trust of Zimbabwe is therefore welcome as it boosts our preparations for the imminent reopening of schools.

    “The hygiene kits will go a long way in reducing COVID-19 transmition at school and community level,” he said.

    He said the donation also spoke volume of how the government worked hand in glove with development partners for the benefit of children and community at large.
