    Guruve teacher steals $30k worth of school property

    Bindura(Nehanda Guardian-New Ziana) -A teacher at Chipangura Secondary School in Guruve, Mashonaland Central province teamed up with his 16 year old son mid this year and stole $30 000 worth of assorted goods from the school storeroom.

    Guruve resident magistrate Shingirai Mutiro heard that Isaiah Wachenuka (40) heard that on August 19 this year, Wachenuka, a teacher at the school, teamed up with his son Wana Wachenuka and two of his friends Kudakwashe Nyamukarichi (19) and Darlene Date (18) and used duplicate keys to unlock the school storeroom.

    Inside they stole 100 kg fertilizer, a 9 kg gas tank, bond paper rims, Biology textbooks amongst many other items.

    The matter came to light when police offered $800 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects and one of the teachers who was an accomplice in the heist went to
    give the information, leading to Wachenuka’s arrest and sentencing to four years behind bars.

    Some of the items were recovered at his residence at the school.
