GWERU — A local recreational facility was gutted by fire last week resulting in loss of property.
Padanga Steakhouse entertainment manager Social Siwawa said the cause of the fire is yet to be
    ascertained.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said police is still investigating to
establish cause of fire at the restaurant situated at Chirandu Business Centre in Senga on January 12
    at around 10:30pm.
It is said that Tafadzwa Chinovhiringa and Warden Mtetwa both of Food Mart Senga Area 2 were
watching television when they heard a loud explosion.
“They peeped through the window and observed that there was a fire at Padanga Restaurant. The
two rushed to the restaurant calling for help.
“Many people gathered and tried to put out the fire but all efforts were in vain as the fire was
    uncontrollable,” he said.
The fire was eventually extinguished after the intervention of both police and fire brigade.
Both the value of the property destroyed and the cause of the fire are yet to be ascertained.
