Harare, (New Ziana) – In a dramatic turn of events,
Harare mayor Jacob Mafume was extremely embarrassed when the Commission
of Inquiry investigating the governance of the capita city caught him in
a lie about his exact place of residence.

The Commission of Inquiry, led by retired Judge Mafios Cheda, adjourned
temporarily to conduct ion inspection in loco at the address that Mafume
had stated as his place of residence.

Mafume had stated that he resided in Greendale suburb, providing a
    specific address on Coronation Road.

However, when the Commission decided to conduct an on-site inspection at
the given address, they found that the property was not a residential
home, but a vehicle auction site owned by a Pfukwa.

Faced with the awkward situation, Mafume claimed it was a “mistake” and
stated that his actual house was just two blocks away from the address
    he had initially provided.

The Commission’s insistence on verifying Mafume’s claim through a
physical inspection underscores its determination to uncover the truth,
even in the face of apparent deception.

Mafume’s apparent attempt to mislead the Commission about his place of
residence has dealt a significant blow to his credibility and could have
far-reaching consequences for the ongoing investigation into the
    governance of Harare.
