Indian medical company sets up shop in Zim

Harare (New Ziana) – An Indian firm, Innovative Healthcare Delivery, has announced plans to set up operations spanning from diagnostics, treatment and pharmaceuticals in the country.

A delegation of the company, led by chief executive officer Dr Parveen Singh met President Emerson Mnangagwa at State House on Tuesday.

Dr Singh told the media that their plans also included developing a medical tourism hub in Victoria Falls.

“This was a follow up meeting with His Excellency the President (to the one we had) in New York so we are here to develop the medical tourism business and we are here for affordable quality healthcare and diagnostic and pharmaceutical things,” he said.

“We are going to start with medical facilities in terms of diagnostics and testing in Harare, Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, Mutare and Gweru.”

He said President Mnangagwa had told the delegation of the vast investment opportunities in the country’s medical sector.

“In future, we are going to see the possibilities of a Public Private Partnerships in the healthcare tourism business in Victoria Falls.”

Initial investment, Dr Singh said was approximately USD5million.

“It is going to be more than USD25 million if something is going to be done on the medical tourism business in Victoria Falls,” he said.
