KARIBA – KASAMBABEZI Radio Station is set to host a summer show on October 14.
Kasambabezi is one of the 14 community radio stations licensed in 2022 and serves
communities in Kariba, and its surrounding communities of Binga, Gokwe, Hurungwe
and Siyavonga. Its thrust is mainly developmental.
The show is going to take place at the Nyamhunga Shopping Centre and it will
accommodate everyone since it will be free of entry.
This show is going to bring about a number of Mashonaland West artists where they will
be given a platform to showcase their talents.
Some of the supporting Mashonaland West artists include Ampleman from Mhangura,
Bongrie Fyah from Chinhoyi, Mk Vybz from Karoi and the Unit records from Kariba
town.
About twenty artists have been invited to perform at the show and quite a number have
confirmed that they will be attending the event.
The show will also be a family friendly event as there will be services catering for
children such as jumping castles and face painting.
There will also be a clash of the DJs, where disc jockeys will be showcasing their
capabilities and competing to prove who is better than the other.
Trisha Hinze, an afro-pop artist, in an interview with the Telegraph, said she was excited
to be part of the summer show in Kariba.
“I am very excited to be performing in Kariba, and this opportunity means everything to
me, I need the show’s exposure and people should really get to know who Trisha really
is through these platforms.
“I am really grateful to the Kasambabezi team for giving me and fellow artists this
opportunity. My last performance was in high school and this will be my first time
performing in front of a big crowd,” she said.
Michel Mafarakufa, a multi-genre artist, who is also a supporting act for the show, said
he was excited to be performing in Kariba.
“Ndiri kunzwa kufara and ndinotenda kuti vanhu vekuKariba vanouyawo kushow
tigofadzana. It’s not the first time to perform in Kariba, I have been there, though for
different shows. I really appreciate the opportunity and the recognition from
Kasambabezi FM,” he said.
