Zhombe (The Times-New Ziana) -Police in the Zhombe area of Kwekwe, Midlands province have launched a manhunt for two men who allegedly stabbed to death a fellow patron at Bhamala Business Centre after an argument over a girlfriend.

Acting Midlands police spokesperson, Sergeant Xolisani Dube said Taurai Chagada and Terrence Bocha both of Village Chikandiwa Mhungu under Chief Samambwa were on the run after they allegedly stabbed to death Tapiwa Mhungu at Bhamala Business Centre around 0100hrs on September 14 this year.

“As the duo was drinking beer, a misunderstanding arose between them and another patron regarding a woman known as Letween Sibanda.

“Mhungu who was also drinking beer in the company of these men intervened to calm down the tension between the suspects and the other patron.

“An argument between Mhungu and the duo of Chagada and Bocha arose, while the other patron went outside the bar living the three together,” Sergeant Dube said.

Chagada and Bocha used an unidentified object to stab Mhungu all over his body.

“After committing the crime, the suspects disappeared into the darkness living Mhungu groaning in pain and on returning, the other patron saw Mhungu lying on the floor facing down in a pool of blood as he bled profusely.”

The matter was reported to Zhombe Police Station and Mhungu was taken to Zhombe Mission Hospital where he later died.

His body was later conveyed to the hospital‘s mortuary for post mortem.

Investigations are still underway as the suspects are still at large.

“We appeal to members of the community who might have information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to report to any police station or make use of suggestion boxes,” said Sergeant Dube.
