    Man varnishes with employer’s US$35 000

    Harare, (New Ziana) – A Victoria Falls man is on the run after allegedly stealing US$35 000 from his employer, police have said. In a statement, police said a manhunt had since been launched for the suspect.

    Mthulisi Cecil Ronal Moyo (23), a branch manager at a Victoria Falls wholesale shop, allegedly received US$35 390 from a cash in transit crew on behalf of his employer intended for banking.

    Moyo allegedly took the money and fled to an unknown destination. “Anyone with information to contact National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp on 0712 800197 or report at (the) nearest police station,” police said.

    “The ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Mthulisi Cecil Ronald Moyo (23) who is being sought in connection with a case of fraud.”

    Meanwhile, police in Harare are appealing for information which may lead to the identification of a boy who was hit and killed by a car while crossing Seke Road near ABC Auctions. The boy is around 12 years, medium built and approximately 1.2 metres tall.

    “The victim was hit by a Honda Shuttle vehicle while crossing the road. The body is at Parirenyatwa Group of hospitals mortuary. Anyone with information or may be missing a relative matching the description to report at any nearest police station,” police said.
