HARARE – Former Dynamos head coach Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe is set for a rare return to the Glamour Boys’ dugout after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) ruled that the remaining 18 minutes of the abandoned match against Hardrock will be completed under the original match conditions.
The fixture, which was halted earlier in the season, will resume on July 9 at Baobab Stadium, with the PSL confirming that the game must continue from the exact point of interruption.
In its directive, the league maintained that the resumption must strictly follow the original match day arrangements.
“The match resumes with the same players, match officials, technical officials, as listed on the team sheet and the same available substitutes when the game was interrupted,” the PSL said.
The ruling effectively opens the door for Mangombe—popularly known as “Kaka”—to temporarily reappear on the Dynamos bench, despite his recent departure from the club following his dismissal.
The decision has created an unusual administrative scenario for Dynamos, who need to comply with the PSL’s requirement to field the same technical setup when the match was abandoned.
With only 18 minutes left to play, the resumption is expected to be tense and potentially decisive as both Dynamos and Hardrock look to secure crucial points in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign.
