CDE DANIEL GARWE…Zanu PF Mashonaland East chairman

By Archford Chirmudombo

MARONDERA- Zanu PF members have been commended for the discipline which they showed at the party’s Congress held in the capital late last month.
Addressing a Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting recently, provincial chairman Daniel Garwe said such discipline will help the province to achieve the target of contributing one million votes to the five million being sought for President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The Congress unanimously endorsed President Mnangagwa as the party’s Presidential candidate in elections set for next year.
“As Zanu PF chairman in this province, I would like to thank you for being disciplined throughout the Congress. You were consistent in everything that you did and our bay always had capacity crowds and everyone who was at the Congress noticed that.
“Let us strive to maintain such high level of discipline as it will also help us to mobilise people to join the party and vote for President Mnangagwa in the elections. We can contribute the one million votes that we are targeting for our President,” Garwe said.
The provincial chairman implored members to unite and campaign for the party and reiterated that all party wings will get vehicles and fuel so that they effectively conduct party duties.
He said: “There will be an induction workshop for all leaders so that we can all synchronize the work we do and be effective. We were sent by President Mnangagwa to campaign for the party and that is what we should simply do. Petty political disputes are not healthy for our party. There are two constituencies where we have people taking jibes at each other on social media groups and that has to stop.
“The War Veteran and Women’s Leagues received their vehicles from the President. He committed that every party wing will get transport for any party activity. Transport is available and will always be available for us to work. We managed to secure diesel and it is also readily available.
“President Mnangagwa said anyone is welcome to join Zanu PF except thieves. If you steal diesel, Pfumvudza inputs or party regalia, you automatically expel yourself from the party.”
Garwe said feedback on the Congress will be provided in due course.
