    Midlands mourn national hero SK Moyo

    Gweru (New Ziana)-Zanu PF Midlands province has described the late party’s politburo member and spokesperson Ambassador Simon Khaya-Moyo as a true revolutionary and towering political figure who contributed immensely to the liberation of the country.

    Ambassador Moyo died at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo Sunday morning at the age of 76. He has been battling with cancer for some time.

    The former diplomat has since been declared a national hero.

    Provincial chairperson Daniel Mackenzie Ncube said Ambassador Moyo’s said they were shocked on the untimely death of “humble and down to earth cadre”

    “As the Midlands Province we are saddened by the untimely death of Cde S K Moyo. A true revolutionary and towering political figure.

    “He radiated warmth and vitality whenever he visited the Province. We will miss this down to earth revolutionary soldier of the people,” said Mackenzie Ncube.

    Ambassador Moyo was the Senator for Bulilima and Mangwe constituencies.

    After independence, he served as a minister for different ministries and also elected the ZANU-PF national chairperson.
