Mohadi call for unity of purpose

MARONDERA- As Zimbabwe edges towards the 2023 harmonised elections, Zanu PF
Second Vice President Kembo Mohadi recently urged party supporters to be united and form
a solid base for a resounding victory.
The party is targeting five million votes.
Addressing traditional leaders, Marondera District Coordinating Committee (DCC) and
provincial members in Mahusekwa, VP Mohadi said the party has no margin for error and
implored those who will not be successful to represent the party to tow the line and mobilise
more members to vote for Zanu PF.
“What we want in Zanu PF is unity and that is a principle which has guided us over the years.
We have aspirations of Zimbabweans at heart and our track record speaks for itself. In the
coming few weeks, we will be holding our primary elections and we want to win
resoundingly.
“There are many candidates who are aspiring to represent the party in council and
parliamentary elections but if you fail to make it through the primary elections, it does not
mean that you to turn your back on the party. Those who will lose should not cause
disharmony,” he said.
He also challenged party leaders to work closely with traditional leaders as the Second
Republic pushes its mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
He said: “Political leaders in this district should work hand in glove with traditional leaders,
be it village heads, headmen or chiefs. If political leaders want to hold meetings, they must be
helped to mobilise people and traditional leaders should be that link.
“All the same, traditional leaders should not abuse their powers. They must work for the
people and play pivotal roles in the development of their areas of jurisdiction.”
VP Mohadi highlighted the history of Zanu PF and how it had manoeuvred through despite
hurdles such as illegal sanctions imposed on the country by Western powers.
“It is not a secret that ours is a global party and protects what is best for each and every
Zimbabwean. We are a blessed country endowed with vast minerals. Whites oppressed us for
90 years but we fought for our freedom.
“We should not give them room to rule us through their proxies in the form of opposition
parties,” he said.
