Murewa man kills wife in cold blood

Share

Marondera(New Ziana) – A Murewa man is on the run after he allegedly murdered his wife in cold blood over suspected infidelity.

The suspect, Ideni Nyashanu (43) of Chitsa village under Chief Mangwende in Murewa, allegedly crashed the woman with a hummer while her 72-old mother watched in horror.

He has since fled the village after allegedly murdering 38-year Pedzisai Tayengwa.

According to village sources, the suspect and the deceased were married for 20 years, but had no children.

Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the murder, and said police in Murehwa had launched a man hunt for the suspect.

It is reported that sometime in December last year, the now deceased sent a message to her mother, Benenia Muchenje of Mhembere village under Chief Mangwende in Murewa, saying she was being abused by the suspect.

On January 14 this year, the deceased’s mother visited her daughter in a bid to resolve differences between her and her husband.

The mother reportedly failed to resolve the couple’s differences, and decided to go back to her village, prompting the daughter to want to go with her as well.

This did not go down well with her husband, who allegedly struck her to death with a four pound hummer when she attempted to leave with her mother.

The mother helplessly watched her daughter being allegedly battered to death by Nyashanu.
