Harare(New Ziana) –The Local Government Board has approved the appointment of Rinashe Nyamuzihwa as town clerk for the Marondera Municipality, a position which he had been acting in since 2020 when the previous incumbent retired.

In a letter to Marondera mayor Simbarashe Nyahuye, Local Government Board (LGB) chairman Steven Chakaipa said they had approved the appointment.

“After thorough deliberations and taking everything into account, the Local Government Board (LGB) was satisfied that Mr Rinashe Nyamuzihwa had a distinct edge above other candidates in terms of experience and exposure,” he said.

Nyamuzihwa, who had been acting town clerk since 2020 when Josiah Musuwo retired, was competing against John Kachingwe, the Marorendera town finance director, and Murehwa Rural District Council (RDC) chief executive officer Dr Alois Gurajena for the post.
