Harare, (New Ziana) – Police in Kadoma have launched investigations into a fatal stabbing that claimed the life of a 29-year-old man in the town at the weekend.

In a statement, police said the murder occurred in the early hours of December 21, 2025, at around 0500 hours at Marcshep Service Station in Waverly, Kadoma.

The victim, identified as Vincent Shambarume, had parked at the service station with a friend while waiting for it to open.

Police said an altercation ensued between Shambarume and four unknown suspects who were travelling in a grey Honda Fit. The dispute reportedly escalated into a fistfight, during which Shambarume was stabbed in the chest and left rib area. He sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Elsewhere, police are also investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident that occurred on the same day at the 106-kilometre peg along the Zvishavane–Rutenga Road. A motorist driving a white Toyota Probox is alleged to have struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road, and fled the scene.

The pedestrian sustained a fractured right leg and was taken to Zvishavane District Hospital for treatment.

Police have appealed to anyone with information that may assist investigations in either case to report to the nearest police station.
