    President Mnangagwa appoints PSC deputy chair

    Harare (New Ziana)-President Emmerson Mnangagwa has, with immediate effect, appointed Dr Nomathemba Ndiweni-Masuku as a commissioner and deputy chairperson of the Public Service Commission (PSC).

    Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda said the appointment was made in terms of section 202 (1)(a) of the Constitution read together with section 320(4) of the Constitution.

    Dr Ndiweni-Masuku holds several professional qualifications including a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Philosophy Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge and Post-graduate certificates in Education, Supervisory Management and Higher Education Management.

    She has served on various boards including the Health Professions Authority of Zimbabwe, the Medical Research Council of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Investment Authority.

    “Dr Ndiweni-Masuku’s experience in the public and academic sector will assist the PSC, particularly at a time when government is setting up the Public Service Academy,” he said.

    “She brings much needed expertise as a public administrator and a renowned member of the academic society and a member of the National Defence University Council.”

    Dr Ndiweni-Masuku will deputise PSC chairman Dr Vincent Hungwe.
